Odam olasi ichida, mol olasi tashida.

A person's blemish is hidden within; an animal's marking shows on the outside.

A person's true character and faults are hidden inside and revealed only through their deeds, unlike an animal whose markings are visible outwardly — judge people by their inner nature, not appearances.
